THE PIC NORTH AMERICA (United States-Mexico-Canada) is an initiative designed to provide professors from higher education institutions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico with the knowledge and tools required to offer COIL courses.

It provides:


GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Strengthen the internationalization of the curricula offered by the U.S., Mexican, and Canadian higher education institutions with the COIL methodology (Collaborative Online International Learning).

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  • Promote and support the creation and development of COIL courses to provide U.S., Mexican, and Canadian students with an international virtual exchange experience.
  • Promote the detection of potential COIL teaching partners among the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
  • Train U.S., Mexican, and Canadian faculty in using the AMPEI-COIL methodology for teaching COIL courses.
  • Promote the training and appointment of institutional COIL coordinators.
  • Promote the establishment and/or strengthening of academic-scientific cooperation among participating professors and their institutions.
