PIC-AMERICAS also offers additional training opportunities for international administrators and faculty to expand their knowledge related to COIL. We offer the COIL Coordinators Workshops and COIL Webinars to improve the experience and enhance your skills.

COIL Coordinators Workshops

Initiating, organizing, and consolidating an institutional COIL program can be very challenging.  It requires knowledge, experience, and institutional commitment.  The PIC-AMERICAS supports higher education institutions to train key members of their communities to become COIL coordinators. We provide online workshops for international office staff or faculty members, who are responsible for promoting and organizing the participation of professors in the COIL program.

These workshops are open to all institutions participating in the program and cover a range of topics, including the role of the COIL coordinator, how to develop  institutional policies and strategies to increase COIL courses, how to motivate and train professors to participate, how to evaluate the program’s success, among others.  During the session, COIL experts share their experiences as well as cases of study from other successful COIL coordinators. These workshops have shown to be a significant contribution to strengthening and expanding COIL programs in public as well as private institutions.

This year the COIL Coordinators Seminar will be offered during the Fall.

COIL Webinars for Improving the COIL Experience

We are delighted to offer webinars that introduce the COIL methodology and demonstrate how it can contribute to the internationalization of curricula. Our webinars will focus on several important topics, such as how to evaluate the success of a COIL experience, how to motivate faculty and students to participate, and other points of interest to the COIL community. Our guest speakers are COIL experts who have participated in previous programs and they will share their valuable insights with the audience.

We understand that a successful virtual exchange experience requires a solid knowledge of ICT tools, and our webinars will cover this area as well. We believe that even professors with extensive teaching experience can benefit from these webinars and find them useful for enhancing their teaching abilities.

Visit our social networks regularly to check the topics and the dates of oncoming webinars.
