La Asociación Mexicana para la Educación Internacional (AMPEI) llevó a cabo el acto protocolario de Toma de Protesta del Consejo Directivo para el periodo 2026–2027, en un evento que reunió a autoridades educativas nacionales, representantes diplomáticos, aliados estratégicos e instituciones de educación superior de México y el extranjero.
La ceremonia contó con la distinguida presencia de Luis Armando González Placencia, Secretario General Ejecutivo de la ANUIES; Susan Bridenstine, Oficial de Asuntos Educativos y Culturales de la Embajada de Estados Unidos en México; Leticia Jiménez Zamora, Presidenta de la AMEREIAF quien estuvo también en representación del Dr. Javier Saldaña Almazán, Rector de la Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero, Jaime Valls Esponda, Director Ejecutivo Adjunto de Santander Universidades; Alia Imtoual, Consejera de Educación e Investigación de la Embajada de Australia en México; así como representantes de la ANUIES y del actual Consejo Directivo de AMPEI.
De manera virtual, acompañaron este importante acto Dorothea Antonio, Directora Ejecutiva de NAFSA; Fernando León García, Rector del Sistema CETYS Universidad; Héctor Raúl Solís Gadea, Vicerrector Ejecutivo de la Universidad de Guadalajara; y Margarita Guarín, Secretaria Ejecutiva de INILAT, reafirmando el carácter internacional y colaborativo de la Asociación.
Durante el evento se realizó la proyección del video e informe de logros alcanzados por la gestión AMPEI 2024–2025, destacando el crecimiento, la consolidación de alianzas estratégicas y el fortalecimiento de la internacionalización de la educación superior en México y la región.
Asimismo, se compartieron mensajes de aliados internacionales, entre ellos Dorothea Antonio (NAFSA) y Fernando León García (CETYS Universidad), quienes reconocieron el liderazgo y el impacto de AMPEI en la cooperación académica internacional. El mensaje institucional estuvo a cargo de Luis Armando González Placencia, Secretario General Ejecutivo de la ANUIES.
Como parte central del acto, se llevó a cabo la Toma de Protesta del Consejo Directivo AMPEI 2026–2027, integrado por:

• Secretario: Scott Venezia Corral – CETYS Universidad

• Vocal: Ana Cecilia García Valencia – Universidad de Colima
• Vocal: Antonio Esqueda Flores – City University
En su mensaje como presidente entrante, José Betancourt Villa, en representación del Consejo Directivo 2026–2027, reiteró el compromiso de AMPEI con la internacionalización de la educación superior, el trabajo colaborativo, la integración regional y el fortalecimiento de alianzas estratégicas que contribuyan al desarrollo académico y social del país.
El evento contó también con la participación de representantes de aliados estratégicos como FAUBAI, Learn Chile, la Red Colombiana para la Internacionalización, entre otros, consolidando a AMPEI como una plataforma clave de articulación internacional.
